Geoscience Consulting, LLC provides specialized services including near-surface geophysical investigations, environmental and hazardous materials assessments, and preservation and stabilization of architectural materials. |
Having detailed knowledge of the subsurface prior to ground-disturbing investigations reduces overall project costs while ensuring that the site is adequately assessed for unknown conditions. Analysis and interpretation of geophysical data through advanced computer modeling techniques is used to produce two and three-dimensional images of subsurface anomalies, allowing informed decisions with regard to the most appropriate form(s) of mitigation, treatment and/or data recovery. Our team performs the following geophysical services:
Near-surface geophysical techniques, including ground-penetrating radar (GPR), electrical resistivity, magnetometry, and electromagnetic conductivity, have become primary tools in the detection of unmarked human interments. The main advantages of these techniques are that, unlike archaeological excavation, they are relatively rapid and do not involve grave disturbance. Geophysical methods offer an alternative to stripping, excavation, or other invasive tests, which are often not acceptable to agencies, landowners, Native American tribes, and other groups. We utilize the following techniques for cemetery projects:
Engineers and contractors require a reliable, non-destructive method of locating targets within concrete structures prior to drilling, cutting or coring. Our high-frequency GPR safely locates rebar, conduits, post-tension cables, and voids within poured concrete. Save thousands on costly repairs and avoid liability for damages by knowing what lies beneath the surface.
Our Geophysical Scientists use GPR and EM studies to assess sites for contaminanted soils, plumes, underground storage tanks (USTs) and buried drums, and other environmental hazards in support of land redevelopment and environmental remediations. Our non-invasive methods quickly delineate areas of concern for further targeted subsurface investigation. comprehensive environmental assessment is
